Hi! Lovely cute story. Really loved the overall concept and how you managed to be so expressive with just the eyes! Great job. Loved the idea of the imaginary friend being any shape or form.

You guyssss! This is one of my favs for sure - I made sure to find it this week to see the final project. I think it's incredible how you've created such a unique and compelling character out of a pair of EYES. Like, what?! Great job. You build up W's desire, what gets in their way, and I was so excited for them when they said what they actually wanted at the end. My favorite sequence specifically was when W travels with the kiddo as she grows up (graduation, job, baby, etc.) It was such clear communication with visuals. Great job!!

Nice work! The personality and emotion you were able to covey with just eyes, was amazing. Thanks for the story.

thanks for your feedback! Yeah, W was a fun character to work on, we wanted to give as much personality to them, flaws and all. We're glad the protag resonated with you!

I absolutely loved this story. I particularly loved the scene after W snaps: Even without being completely explicitly stated, we get a sense of loneliness from both characters with the use of visual storytelling. It was well done.

Good job!

Loved how you kept me curious the whole time and used different types of story telling techniques to keep it fresh and different. Took me a while to work out it was an imaginary friend passed on from generations, but once I worked that out, it really had me thinking from the perspective of an imaginary friend! Brilliant.

Thanks very much, Kwong Yue! Yes, we aimed for the showing route of storytelling in hopes that audience would understand W's story, who they are and their relationship with the kids. etc. Our aim was that to make the audience care about them as soon as they understood through their perspective as well as Sam's. Glad this came across :)

Hi Team M.A.D Catapult, congratulations on a great story reel! You executed your story well without the need for a lot of dialogue and really conveyed the emotion through the story well. I was a bit confused on how W realizes they want to be themselves. A suggestion I have to make your story stronger is to allow for the new Anderson kid to prompt this change of heart within W, asking W who they want to be.

Friend Shaped

W is an imaginary friend that's been in the Anderson family for generations. They are passed from kid to kid, until the kid grows apart from them, and they lose their body! A new Anderson kid has returned to the old family house, has W finally found their forever friend?

thanks to my teammates that stuck it out with me and got us as far as we did despite the massive timezone difference and every other thing inbetween. We made it guys!! And a thanks to Alessandra Sorrentino, who gave me a creative jump start during her week livestream. It's been fun!

Special Thanks:
