Dream

I love the voice acting on this video! It works really well and is executed great. The recording is good and articulate and very clear. There are a few interesting pops and crackles in the background though. I like the conflict you picked and I think this is very relevant in the world today. I am a bit confused on how Gilda was able to so easily get her method implemented, and I am a bit confused on what the moral of the story is. Overall I love the story and I think it is really good and very well executed and effective.

Week 8

I like the illustration and the general visual style of the video. I am a bit confused how the wolves and the cattle flow into John wanting to be the leader and why he needs to kill his brother to do that. A few of the lines seem repeated in the middle? I am a bit confused that John doesn't seem to get punished for killing Thomas. Also the way the narration is recorded in a bunch of different cuts is a bit disorienting because the narration has some noise behind it which flips in and out with the vocal cuts. I like the development of conflict and the general idea of building upon a story that a lot of people know. Great job guys!

Week 8 of Pixar

This was certainly an interesting and engaging story. I like the effort put into the music and the auditory storytelling that is done, but I found that the volume of a lot of things felt a little off, and the story was a bit hard to understand without narration, especially since some of the subtitles supposed to explain it were out of frame. I also think that the music could be changed a little bit to fit the mood in certain places. I also find the subject matter a bit concerning, especially considering that the moral of the story seems to be in support of slavery, which I think is widely agreed to be not a great thing to support. Overall, I love all of the effort.

final cowspiracy

This story is amazing. First, this is the best example of auditory storytelling I have seen thus far, using sounds to augment the story without overpowering it. The narration is pretty clear, though moving away from the mic a bit and upping the gain or a wind screen of some kind could help with some of the breath and mouth noises that get through. Unless the ASMR thing is your stylistic intent, in which case, right on. The music in the background is perfect for both the vibe and is mixed perfectly. I like that they illustration style doesn't have to be complicated and I think the sketch style really adds to the humor of it all. I also love the deadpan delivery of everything and I think it makes it hilarious. I think it could be improved with a bit more fleshing out of characters and setting beforehand, but honestly its simplicity might be what makes it. Overall, this is amazing.

I really like the music at the beginning and all of the sound effects. The fades in and out on the music are a bit abrupt and some of the sounds effects are a bit too loud compared the to audio though. Also I found the story a bit hard to follow with mostly just music and sound effects. I don't think you necessarily need more narration but switching up what sound effects or music you use to fit the mood might make it a bit stronger. Also when using music it can be important to consider where you are in the music when it starts and stops because sometimes the music stops abruptly just as it hits a high energy moment. Overall I really like the story and all of the visuals and it is very well put together.

🎵 it's a ghost story, baby just say yes 🎵 (READ DESCRIPTION FIRST)

I love this animation style and the general theme of the story! I find the reading a bit confusing to follow and a bit hard to understand but overall I really liked it. The end of the story was a bit unclear and so I am not totally sure what the moral was supposed to be but I like the sad and serious tones it explores!

Wyoming

I LOVE THIS STORY! I am a bit unclear on pretty much everything but give me Colonel Sanders and Wyoming and you can't go wrong. I am really not certain what the moral was and I left the story laughing, but honestly, I wouldn't change a thing!

Draft of complete movie

I like the personification of the tree and the use of the limitations a tree would have trying to be human. I like the way that the world can be magical with the tree talking but not too far from our world and reality. I think you did a great job making the tree sound real and human and evoking his emotions. I wonder if the animals would have the same effect on the tree as the girl. Can they talk too?

I left the story feeling uplifted that the tree was finally happy and had friends, and I'm not totally sure what the moral is. Be confident in yourself?

Unnamed Story about Dogs (First Draft)

I like this idea of the personification and society of dogs! I am a bit confused about what happened after fin got injured, as he said he needed to get help since he was all cut up, but the story seemed to focus on his sprained paw more and he seemed to care more about his lack of food, though I understand if you are trying to characterize him as selfless leader. I like the air of mystery at the end of the story. I left the story feeling sad that was not able to finish his task and I think the moral is that you should not just try to do everything yourself?

complete storyboard cloud surfing

I love the story, the art is beautiful, and I really like the general art style, it looks very natural and I think works very well. One thing I found is that sometimes this story can feel a bit too much like a list of sentences and not a story as much. I think adding a couple of words just connecting sentences, or just leading in to things could be good. I definitely understand the urge to be punctual and cut out the fluff but it can help the watcher some so that when you are introducing new things they don't just feel out of nowhere. It definitely feels flowier near the end and it might have just been a stylistic choice to fit the character, but I just wanted to point it out if it wasn't intentional.

At the end of the movie I felt motivated and encouraged, and I think the moral is that mistakes happen and you should roll with them and learn from them

full story!

I love the concepts of this and the ways that you weave color metaphors into all parts of the story. The visuals fit nicely and they reflect the themes of the story. I'm a bit confused about the part where her mother disappears - totally understand if it is supposed to be mysterious but just adding some detail explaining the mystery might help a bit more because the pacing of that line feels a bit off right now to me.

I ended the story feeling a lot confused about the story as a whole. Is the world normally in color? Was the whole story a dream? Does she go back to when there was no color? I am allso unsure of a moral on this. Maybe that if something seems to good to be true it is since one she got to see color it turned out to be not real? also is it that only certain people can see color or that only certain places are colorful or some of both? also could she see color in her mind (in a dream) if she can't see it normally?

Cowspiracy Acts 1 + 2

This is amazing. I love the concept and the drawings are awesome and the execution to create tension and build up is awesome! I wonder if a little bit more detail could make a couple parts clearer. For instance, why did he have to cover the election? Is there someone abusing power there too? How could he tell that the candidates were cows? Could anyone else tell? I love this and I absolutely want to see more of it. This is awesome.

My Act 1 And 2

I love this idea and this artwork! I like it's ability to explain a seemingly random phenomenon - dreams - in a fun and creative way! I wonder if there is any way you could explain Gilda's method's effect on humans vs is the way a bit more? I think showing that some case in which the old way negatively affected people and the new way working and helping people could make it feel stronger and more grounded so that the watcher will want to defend it when the old fairy try to keep her from doing it. Great concept and execution! I love this!

Draw Your Life (Ted's Minor Beats - Act 2)

I kinda already got the vibe of a bit of angel/devil allusion and I totally agree that this could be a super cool way to expand a bit more on this concept. I also thought that in establishing the concept maybe mentioning a few more drawings that were there but aren't any more or things like that could make it feel a bit more fleshed out, especially to get the sentience idea across explaining their personalities and what not could be cool.

Draw Your Life (Ted's Minor Beats - Act 2)

I love this art! Perfect sketches! Shows everything you need to see clearly and nicely uses value to show what's important! I wonder if there is a way that him buying the video can be set up a little more? A bit about that early on when establishing his character might could make it feel a bit less out of place when mentioning it later on. I absolutely can not wait to see part 3 of this! The writing at the end and the story as a whole absolutely gave me frission at the end. Amazing work guys!

I love the art! I wonder how Amaya convinced her mother to let them keep Raven? Why couldn't they have a pet? I am also a bit confused about the part where Raven drowns. Was something purposefully leading her to the gorge? Was it just an accident? I love the story though! It was really captivating and I want to hear more!

Act 2 Dream Factory

I really love this story! Reminds me a lot of the dream part of inside out! I love the art because it has such creative expressions of the tones you are trying to create. I can't wait to see where this goes. The audio is a bit hard to understand in my headphones so I might suggest trying some different recording devices (it sounds really far panned to the right for some reason for me) but overall I love it and want to see more!

Act 1 Finley Aspen

I love this story and the art! I love this idea because I think it is very relatable and something that many people will find similar to their own experiences. I wonder why the person who criticized Finley said what they said. Were they trying to be rude? Or give legitimate critique? I can't wait to see where this goes next!

Trail of tears

I love the idea for the story and it feels like it could be in empowering narrative if told correctly (though I'm still not sure how the conflict will be settled). One thing I think could make it a bit more powerful could be a bit of production touch when dealing with audio from lots of different voices. Obviously depending on your audio setup and video editor this is going to be different from person to person, but when dealing with multiple different voices, or even just the same person's audio from different cuts, it is important to try to normalize the volume of everyone, so that you don't get a big jump in volume when going from one person to another when you don't mean to. This can be accomplished by trying to get everyone to speak at the same about the same volume and distance from the microphone (or laptop or phone or whatever your audio solution may be), and then just going back and listening back after the fact and adjusting certain parts to be a bit quieter or louder as needed. Clearly you will end up wanting some things to be louder and quieter but generally having everyone's speaking voices be about the same volume can be a bit less jarring to the listener. Love the art guys!

Celeste Act 1 Story Reel

I like tthe character and the art is amazing! I am curious how your story plays out because as of now I am confused on how a lot of parts of it will influence the plot in the end. I find the concept of her hiding this ability because her parents are trying to keep her from being ostracized to be very interested and sophisticated and tells a lot about what elephant society must be like. Love the story so far!

Act 1 story

I love the art style and the way the characters look -- super cute! One tiny nitpick about the production is that often when the picture changes there is some harsh noise (maybe you are hitting a button to change a slide or start/stop recording) which sounds like something is clipping the mic a bunch. This happens sometimes depending on your setup and you can normally just chop that start/tail of the audio just a bit so that listeners don't hear that because it can be kinda loud and uncomfortable. I love this concept and the way you have personified this common struggle.

ACT 1 (PO)

Great job on the art! I love the simplicity and use of value to direct the watcher to where you want them. I love the idea of a silent film styled music only movie, but I find it a bit hard to tell exactly what I am supposed to be understanding to go on. I wonder if adding some extra animations or something to bring some emphasis and clarity could make it be a bit easier to understand. Love the out of the box thinking guys!
